Nicole Ellen (Carlile) Child

It is with great sadness that the family of Nicole Ellen (Carlile) Child share the news of her passing on July 6, 2018 at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA. She was surrounded by her family following a courageous fight with a rare form of cancer.

She is the beloved wife of James Child with whom she shared her life for the past twenty-six years.

Nicole was born in Bridgeport, CT on December 16, 1975. She has always been the shining star of her parents, Mary Ellen and Bruce Carlile and her sisters, MaryLynn Seiler, Beth McDermott, Susan Bottomley and Sandra Cambria. She is loved deeply beyond measure.

Nicole loved her family and was always there right by their side whenever and wherever she was needed. She always put everyone before herself. Nicole was a wonderful storyteller and had a great love for animals. She enjoyed the outdoors and walking on forest trails especially with her family and her dog, Basil. One of her favorite places to visit was Otter Point on Mount Desert Island, ME.

She was always considered the "fun" aunt and is sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her husband's family who is very devoted to her.

Niki (Tzioumis) Kanavas
long time resident of Lowell

LOWELL - Niki (Tzioumis) Kanavas, a long time resident of Lowell, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Brigham and Women's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Niki was the beloved wife of Demetrios Kanavas with whom she was married 46 years.

She was born in Kerasea, Arkadias, Greece on October 5, 1952 and was a daughter of the late Evangelos and Sotiria (Tsilivi) Tzioumis.

She was a hairdresser by trade but her true passion was her family. Niki dedicated herself to caring for her husband after his accident many years ago. She was the foundation of her family and her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren and making sure they always had Yiayia's home cooking. She had a way of helping everyone around her. She truly was a Super Yiayia. This will not only be a great loss to her family but to the community as well. Niki was a proud member of the Holy Trinity Hellenic Orthodox Church in Lowell and was very active in the Ladies Philoptochos Society.

In addition to her loving husband, Niki is survived by her children; Voula and Peter Danas of Andover, Constantinos and Despena Kanavas of Newton, and Sotiria and Michael Szarek of Dracut, her grandchildren; Athanasios and Demetra Danas, Nicolette and Emilia Szarek and Demetrios Kanavas, her siblings; Vasilios Tzioumis of Lowell and Christine and Chris Goulas of Tewksbury, in-laws; Peter and Anastasia Kanavas of Chelmsford, Vasilios Kanavas of Chelmsford, Anastasia and Arthur Ermilios of Athens, Greece, Niko Gavana of Galatista, Greece and Michael Veroulis of Dracut as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends. Niki was predeceased by her sisters-in-law Vaia Veroulis and Stella Gavana.

KANAVAS - Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-7 pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. Niki's Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10 o'clock at Holy Trinity Hellenic Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St., Lowell. KINDLY MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, LOWELL.
