John Mahaney

John Mahaney Williamston Born April 19, 1924, passed away April 8, 2013, just missing his 89th birthday by 11 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pearl (Kyte) Mahaney, his brothers Jim Mahaney and Bob Mahaney. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara, 3 sons; Paul Mahaney, David Mahaney, Tom Mahaney and daughter Mary Ann (Marc) Lippe, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister Donna Wenzlick and brother Bill Mahaney. John was a very good athlete, playing football, basketball and baseball in high school. He entered the army in WWII July, 1943 and was discharged in 1946, immediately going into the dry cleaning business. In 1956 he opened another dry cleaning business in Williamston, moving there in 1961. He was owner of an excavating company and then in sales until he retired in 1989. There will be no services, but friends are invited to come and celebrate his life at 2:00 p.m.on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Brookshire Inn & Golf Club, Williamston, MI.
