Warren C. Gregory Ph.D.

Warren C. Gregory, Ph.D. Lansing Age 68, passed away January 9, 2013. He was born April 11, 1944, in Detroit, to Warren and Stella Gregory. Warren was awarded the Certificate of Merit for his works as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He received his BA and MA from the University of Detroit and his doctorate from Western Michigan University. He served as adjunct professor at Western Michigan and Central Michigan Universities and was former chief economist and director of public policy for the Michigan Legislature. Dr. Gregory had written more than fifty publications on public policy and economics and received a number of statewide and national awards, including the prestigious Public Servant of the Year Award. His passion was economics - he authored several notable books including his most recent "Moving Up to Our Economic Future: Bottoms Up to Prosperity" in 2011. He is survived by his wife Mary Elizabeth Holmes, an aunt Jean Tammaro DeMark, special cousin, Phyllis (Jean Hays) DeMark, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Jondahl officiating.
