Robert Farlin Obituary
Lansing - Age 79, passed away July 16, 2018. He was born March 2, 1939, in Lansing, to Glenn and Naomia (Dunn) Farlin. Robert graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1957, then joined the U.S. Air Force. After the military, he became employed for Oldsmobile, retiring from GM after 31 years. Robert was an avid bowler and golfer, and played fast pitch softball for several years.
Surviving are: his wife of 56 years, Joann; 3 sons, Ronald, Rick, and Randy (Kim) Farlin; 3 granddaughters, Ava, Ella, and Hannah; brothers, Richard and Michael Farlin; and sister, Patricia Norris.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2018, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Kidney Foundation in memory of Robert Farlin. Online condolences may be left for his family at www.EstesLeadley.com.

Joanne,
Pat and I have been talking about the great times we had with the ball team, Harbor Springs and Drummond Island. We so enjoyed being with you two. We talk about the day we spent behind Harbor Island and the frozen margaritas. There were many more great times.
Our deepest sympathy to you and the boys and their families. I haven't seen Bob in few years and I miss him already.

Knew Bob from working at Olds in the 60's, and sports, as well as social life. Loved being around him with his sense of humor and friendly nature. He was upbeat and made you feel positive about things. It hurts to lose guys like Bob and you just wish you had some of those early years back to enjoy them just that much better. With a sad heart I send out prayers to all of his family and for his memory. Proud to be considered a fellow veteran.
