Lansing - Addie Inez Harris was born on October 17, 1934 to L.B. and Pearlie Peterson in Honoraville, Alabama. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age at Union Baptist Church in Alabama. Addie united with Elze Harris in Holy Matrimony on the eve of our Savior's birth in 1955. To this union, 4 children were born, Willie, Denise, Christopher and Timothy. In 1965, Elze and Addie relocated to Lansing, Michigan where they found their Christian family at Union Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Charles J. Patterson. Addie was very active in the Mission Society and she was always available to assist in any capacity needed. After 29 years of dedicated service, Addie retired from General Motors. Addie was called home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. She was preceded in homegoing by her father, L.B.; mother, Pearlie; son, Timothy; and siblings, Pearlie Frost, Allean Goldsmith, Bama Franklin, Earnest Peterson, L.B. Anderson, Bob Peterson, Jim, Houston Peterson, Rayfield Anderson, Archie Peterson and Lillar Simpson. Left to cherish precious memories are her husband of 61 years, Elze; three children, Willie of North Carolina, Denise and Christopher (Lana) both of Lansing; siblings, Ida Hall and John Peterson both of Lansing; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation at Riley Funeral Home, 426 W. St. Joseph St. Lansing, MI on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 12:00-6:00 PM. Family will receive visitors from 11:30 AM until 12:00 PM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 500 S. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Lansing, MI with funeral service to follow. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
