Betty Marie (Barlett) Boutell Obituary
Betty Marie (Barlett) Boutell Age 89, died Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Sparrow Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. She was born in Lansing, Michigan on April 15, 1924 to Robert and Lilah (Kress) Barlett. Betty lived the last four years in Delta Township, formerly of Howell, MI. Betty worked at Oldsmobile, Sears in Howell, Joe Harris Meat Market and Howell Schools. She graduated from Bath High School, was a member of the United Methodist Women, Dorcas/Mary-Martha Circle, and was a Red Cross volunteer. She was a huge Detroit Tigers fan, she loved to cook, bake and make quilts. She loved nothing more than to have her children and grandchildren around her. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Betty was caring and generous to family and friends. She was married to Jim Boutell for fifty-nine years; he preceded her in death on July 18, 2013. Survived by sons, James R. (Debi) Boutell of Sweeney Texas; Randy J. (Sue) Boutell of Grand Ledge, Michigan; Tom (Chris) Knapp of Howell, Michigan, Terry (Kip) Knapp of Gilmore, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; Preceding in death were three grandsons. Survived by brother, Robert (Betty) Bartlett of Oklahoma. Visitation will be Friday, August 23 from 6-8 p.m. at MacDonald's Funeral Home, Howell (517-546-2800). Funeral service will be Saturday, August 24 at 11 a.m. (visitation one hour before service) at the First United Methodist Church, 1230 Bower Street, Howell, MI. Burial will be in Sanford Cemetery.
