Dr. H. William "Bill" Bond

Brighton

Dr. H. William "Bill" Bond of Brighton, Michigan passed away at the age of 80 on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at his home. 

He was born on February 1, 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA to Harley Isaac Bond and Anna Gertrude (Campbell) Bond and was the middle of three children between his brother James and sister JoAnne.

Bill received his Pharmacy degree from Duquesne, Pittsburgh, his Masters from University of Illinois, Chicago and his PhD in Neuro Pharmacology from Tulane, New Orleans. His career began by teaching medical students at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He left academia to get into the Pharmaceutical industry doing research at Parke Davis. He eventually moved into the corporate sector working for Wyeth-Ayerst in Mason, Michigan moving up the corporate ladder as Senior Vice President of Operations in Philadelphia. After retirement he and Pamela moved to Ithaca, New York.

Bill is survived by his wife of 16 years, Pamela, daughters Marguerite (Tim) Banks and Laura (David) Sluck, sons William, Vincent and James (Rachel) Bond, stepson James (Kristen) Ninni, stepdaughters Nicole (Thomas) Lawitzke, Danielle Demeter and the mother of his children M. Kathleen Bond as well as 13 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Bill was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James, his sister JoAnne.

A Memorial service in celebration of Bill's life will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Keehn Funeral Home 706 W. Main Street, Brighton, MI 48116.  Visitation to be held one hour prior to memorial service.
