Sean M. Stuart
Lansing
On Tuesday, September 12, 2017, surrounded by love, Sean Stuart went to his eternal resting place at the age of 42.
He is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Teresa and Ron Panetta; father, George Wayne Stuart; loving fiancée, Robin Tidwell; brothers, Nick (Breanne) and Ryan (Ewa); nephew and nieces, Joseph, Grace, and Taytum; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his beloved grandparents, Raymond and Barbara Hinz, George and Dorothy Piggush.
Sean was born June 5, 1975 in Lansing, to Teresa and Wayne Stuart. He graduated from Lansing Catholic Central where he made lifelong friends and memories. A born athlete, he played football, basketball and track and continued his love of sports into adulthood. He was an avid retro gamer in youth and a movie buff until the very end. A true and dedicated Spartan, Sean never missed an opportunity to cheer on the Green and White, always seen sporting his favorite team colors. A dedicated colleague, he spent many years working at Flap Jack as a manager where he continued to make lifelong friends.
Sean will forever be remembered for his giving and loving heart, a trait he inherited from his beloved grandfather Raymond Hinz. His unconditional love for his family and friends was unmatched. He gave never asking for anything in return and was often the first to help a friend in need. He loved celebrating holidays with his large extended family and enjoyed the simple things in life.
During his later years, he found the one, a loving and supportive friend whom became his fiancée, Robin Tidwell. They shared many wonderful memories together over the course of five years. Sean gave in death as he gave in life; he was a Gift of Life donor. Because of his generous donations, he will provide sight for one person, two newborns will receive his heart valves, and his skin and tissue will help up to 75 more people. Gone but never forgotten, a life well-lived and well loved, he will continue in the memories of others.
A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2017, 11:00 a.m., St. John Church and Student Center, 327 MAC, East Lansing, with Fr. Ryan Riley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Gift of Life Foundation, 3861 Research Park Dr., Ann Arbor, MI 48108-2217, will honor Sean's memory.
The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Chapel. On line condolences may be made at

Hey buddy its Joe. Its taken me a long time and many trips to your grave to even attempt leaving you a message. I don't know where to start. You could every time make me laugh of course, but also help me to remember what is important in life and to forget the negative. People like me need that from time to time. As I say it through heavy tears .... I love ya and am gonna miss you forever. Just remember family & friends are just across the river. I will visit you often. love your pal Joe.

They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear."
You will be dearly missed by all. You are a true spirit, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

"Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die."

We'll miss Sean's welcoming smile. It was always nice to talk with one of the 'kids' from LCC. He was so excited to announce his wedding plans. Sad, but so glad he'd found his love.

Sean was a young man when he was hired by me at Flap Jack, I loved his beautiful smile and love of people. He was dedicated employee and everyone loved him. He never failed to come over to me and give me a hug and even a kiss when I no longer owned the Flap Jack. Well miss him everyday and praise him for whom he was. So happy he found his love and hoping for all the memories to cling on forever. Judy Feehan Previous Flap Jack {owner}

How do I say goodbye to a man who has been my close friend for 32 years? Fact is, I can't - so instead, I'll take you with me in my thoughts and memories as I experience all the things that kept us close over the years, like star wars movies, Michigan State sports, comic books, the Lions, Arts Pizza, COMA stories, ST Casimir and LCC days and on and on and on. Rest easy brother. I know how much you hated to miss a good time with friends, so dont worry. Your spirit lives on in all of us, you live on in all of the friends and family that you loved so dearly. We all love you right back and always will. I'll miss you Sean.
