Lamesa- Amelia Flores Perez of Lamesa passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the age of 60. She was born October 16, 1960 in Tahoka to Otiquio and Ines (Benavides) Flores, Sr. Amelia worked as a nurse aide at Lynn County Hospital while in high school. After graduating in 1980, she went on to attend South Plains College, obtain her Associate Degree from St. Phillips College in San Antonio and her Bachelor in Computer Science at Lubbock Christian University. She was passionate about education, loved history and ancestry, her greatest joy was being a mother.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Maria Perez of Pasadena, Texas, Josie Perez of San Antonio, and Courtney Perez of Lamesa; siblings, Otiquio Flores, Jr., Billy Flores, Ruben Flores, Nancy Zuniga, and Diana Hernandez and husband Robert; as well as nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ray Flores.

A come-and-go visitation will take place from 1:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021 at Combest Family Funeral Homes, Tahoka. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Combest Family Funeral Homes, Tahoka with interment to follow at Nevels Memorial Cemetery.
