Ava Elizabeth "Beth" Gaizauskas Obituary
San Antonio- Ava Elizabeth Gaizauskas (Beth), 93, of San Antonio left her loving family on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.

Beth was born on March 17, 1925 in Petersburg, Texas to the late Mae and Edward Meredith Carmickle. Beth was one of 9 children. She was a graduate of Petersburg High School. Like many in the Greatest Generation, she served her country in WWII. Beth served as a secretary to the base commander in Amarillo, Texas, where she met the love of her life, her future husband, Bruno. Beth was a proud military wife to her beloved husband, pilot Bruno C. Gaizauskas, USAF, (Ret). They were married for 63 years. Beth and Bruno were married on Christmas Day, 1944; their song was "White Christmas", the Hollywood song of the year. As a military wife, Beth raised her son, Michael, while traveling around the world. She made a beautiful home wherever Bruno was stationed. Beth was a skilled seamstress and wonderful cook. Friends and family from all around the world were lucky enough to enjoy her gracious hospitality and delicious meals. Beth was a member of Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Canyon Lake, Texas. Her church friends were some of her dearest friends.
