Lubbock- 66, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017. Della was born May 31, 1951 to Roosevelt Riddley and Cleo Viola Carter. She graduated from Dunbar High School. She was baptized in the M.L.K., Jr. SDA church in 1984 where she served as the assistant lay ministry leader, assistant secretary, and Sabbath school teacher for teens. She served 20 years on the Board of Trustees for the Presbyterian Clinic and 10 years on the Board of Trustees for the Community Health Centers of Lubbock. Della leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, Marshall L. Cooper; her daughter, Wanda J. Howard (Ervin), two grandchildren, Tavar J. Howard and Tyrell J. Howard; four sisters, Irma Jean Collins, Sandra Riddley, Rose Fluellen, and Rose Rolla; a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of life service will be held Friday, December 8, 2017 at 2 p.m. at New Light Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.
