Janie Mae "MaDea" Milton Obituary
Tahoka- 80, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019. Janie was born to Otis and Margurette Mitchell on December 23, 1938 in Thrall, TX. She attended school in Cooks Point, TX. Janie was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for more than 65 years, where she served as Sunday School Superintendent, Youth Director of Pleasant Grove, President of the Choir, Church Musician for New Zion, New Home for 16 years and Church Musician for the Freewill Missionary Baptist Church, Slaton for 23 years and served as the President of the New Zeal Baptist District Women's Department. Janie leaves to cherish her memory; sister, Sarah Waddell; children, Clifford Oages, Willie Mitchell (Shelia), Staci McGruder (Harold), Katrina White; god-daughter, Tash-Lawson Harpole (Don); Bryan Patterson, Curtis Erickson, Celinda Moore, and Travis Leverett; 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Tahoka. Interment will follow at Tahoka Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.
