Lubbock- Terry Parten, 69, of Lubbock passed from this life Sunday, December 3, 2017 in Amarillo. He was born March 11, 1948 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Marvin and Margaret Parten.

He graduated from Hobart High School in 1965. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1968 where he achieved the rank of Staff Sargent. He served in Vietnam and Cambodia before he received his honorable discharge in 1970. Terry was employed by Green Irrigation for 25 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the America Legion and the "Refuge" Church. After his retirement he enjoyed riding his Harley and volunteering at the VA Clinic and providing funeral honors for veterans though the American Legion.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his loving wife, Kaye; son, Walter Terry; daughters Redonna, Lezlie, and Heather; sister, Janelle; grandchildren Heather, Alexis, Melinda, and Terry Layne.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel at 2 pm on Saturday December 9, 2017. Interment with military honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 PM Friday, December 8, 2017 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
