Hector Y. Florez LAMESA-Funeral mass for Hector Y. Florez, 55, of Lamesa will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church with Father Nahum Lopez officiating and Deacon Daniel Valenzeula assisting. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016 and Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at 7 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Lamesa Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home in Lamesa, Texas. Hector passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, in Lamesa, Texas. He was born on Oct. 24, 1960 to Ramon S. and Angelita (Ybarra) Florez in Slaton, Texas. He married Maria Elena Luna on Oct. 24, 1992 in Lubbock. They were married for 23 years. He worked for the City of Lamesa as an Animal Control Officer for many years. He loved taking care of the animals in our community. Hector enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed being around people and brought a smile to those he surrounded. Hector is survived by his wife, Maria Elena of Lamesa; stepson, David Lee Cantu of Lubbock; brothers, Eloy Florez of Euless, Ruben Flores of Lubbock, Ramon Nonata Florez of AZ, Paul Florez of Lubbock, Armando Florez of Austin; sisters, Linda Florez Chacon of Lubbock, Gloria Florez Sifuentes of Irving, Ortensia Florez Saldivar of Lubbock, Sylvia Florez Sanchez of Lubbock, Yolanda Hayes of Irving and Lisa Florez Barnett of Austin; stepbrothers, Gilbert A.
