Funeral services for Ernest Hough, 82, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Charles M. Roberts and Brother Kevin Roy officiating. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Mausoleum in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Hough was born February 24, 1933 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Amby (Freeland) and Samuel Ross Hough and died Saturday, September 5, 2015 in Lufkin. Mr. Hough resided in Lufkin all of his life. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Champion International Paper Company, as a Paper Machinist, after thirty-nine years. He was a faithful member of the Denman Avenue Baptist Church. Mr. Hough had a passion for old cars and trucks his entire life. After retirement, he spent most of his time buying and restoring his "fixer uppers". He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed by many. Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-six years, Sandra (Hines) Hough of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Jimmy Citty of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Rhonda Hough of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Blake Parker of Ft. Worth; grandchildren and spouses, Tyler Greening, Chase Greening, Dagan and Megan Hough, Landan Hough, Madeleine Parker, Tatum Parker, and Riley Parker; one great-granddaughter, Brylie Hough; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his two sisters; Garland Ray and Geneva Ricks. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and sons-in-law. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joy Sunday School Class for the Children's Christmas Fund c/o Denman Avenue Baptist Church, 1807 E. Denman Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Memories and condolences may be added at www.carrowayfuneralhome.com.
