John Bryer Obituary

John W. Bryer, age 71, a 5 year resident of Clinton Township, and former 42 year resident of Harrison Township, passed away Friday afternoon at his home. He was born October 3, 1941 to Thomas and Henrietta (Jobse) Bryer, Sr. in Mount Clemens, Michigan. On August 7, 1965, John married Karen Hummel. John owned Bryer Carpet Cleaners for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Jeff (Rhonda) Bryer of Macomb and Eric (Tracy Mills) Bryer of St. Clair Shores; grandchildren, Shaun, Ryan, Evan and Hayden; siblings, Thomas Bryer Jr. of Dryden, Joann Kaul of Clinton Township and Jean (Milt) Grant of Clinton Township; and sister- in- law, Nona Bryer of Mount Clemens. Mr. Bryer was predeceased by his mother, Henrietta; father, Thomas Sr.; brother, Joseph, and brother- in- law, Fred 'Fritz' Kaul. Visitation Monday, December 3, 2012, from 3-9 p.m. and Tuesday Noon to 9 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m Scripture service at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens. Funeral Mass Wednesday 11 a.m. (in state 10:30 a.m.) at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 38751 Prentiss, Harrison Township. Burial will follow at Clinton Grove Memorial Park, Clinton Township.

So sorry to hear John passed away. He went to school with my sister Carol at St. Louis for a while. I will always remember him as a funny and a charming man. My condolences to you Karen and his children.

George & I are so sorry to hear of the loss of my classmate and friend. He was like a brother to me. We would walk to my families laundry together in grade school; along with Art Tebo, Michael Kaul, Gail Peters. Great friends. We will keep you and your family in our prayers John.
