Ronald L. Wangrud Obituary
Wangrud, Ronald L. Age 77, of Auburn Hills, Michigan and Singer Island, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2018. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Debra (nee: Coratti) Wangrud, a son Curtis Wangrud of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Sister- in-Law Jean Wangrud of Bozeman, Montana, brothers- in- law and sisters-in- law, Richard and Nancy Coratti, Thomas and Janice Coratti, Michele and Daniel Pfeffer and Peter Coratti, all of Michigan, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Lena Wangrud, brother and sister-in-law Larry and Donna Wangrud, a brother Ordean Wangrud, and father and mother-in-law Angelo and Mary Coratti. Ron enlisted in the United States Army in 1959 and served his country for two years as a light weapons infantryman while stationed in Germany. He was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal. He was a lover of life, dedicated husband, father, teacher and coach. Ron was an innovative teacher who made learning fun. He touched many lives during his teaching and coaching career and would do anything to help his students and athletes achieve success in life, in the classroom, or playing field. Ron always had time for everyone and put his whole heart and soul into whatever he did. A recipient of many honors as teacher and coach, Ron found the most satisfaction when his students were the honorees. Ron retired as an Assistant Principal and Athletic Director for Roseville High School, but always followed his lifelong passion of teaching. Tirelessly mentoring new teachers and helping anyone with their golf swing. He could detect any flaw in your golf swing and fix it. An unselfish man, he was the first to console others in times of need and continued even while suffering with illness. He and Debbie were avid golfers, enjoyed traveling, and playing cards. They also cherished spending time with family and close friends. They enjoyed spending winters on Singer Island in Florida and summers in Michigan. Ron will always be remembered for his unselfish generosity, compassion, understanding, and love of those with whom he shared life.
