Barbara B. Thompson, 77, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021. A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange, Georgia with the Rev. Johnny Morton officiating. The family will greet friends on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Snow's Memorial Chapel Bass Road. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cross Roads Recovery Ministries, P.O. Box 2036, Macon GA 31203 or Woodfield Academy, 4375 Rivoli Drive, Macon GA 31210.
Barbara was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Emory Rudolph and Alice Ross Brooks. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Donald Thompson and sister, Jackie Garrett. Barbara was a graduate of the University of Georgia. She was an author of several books, wrote articles for Macon Magazine and the Macon Telegraph. She was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by her sons; Brett (DeRynn) Thompson of Manhattan Beach, CA; Brad (Katherine) Thompson of Macon, GA; grandchildren; Carr Thompson, Callie Thompson, Olivia Thompson, Emory Thompson and Brooks Thompson, sister, Sylvia Lanier of Rome; nieces; Alana (Matt) Cobb, Alicia Lanier and several great-nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law, Philip Thompson of LaGrange, GA.

Brad , Katherine and family we are so sorry to hear about Barbara we loved her and missed her so much . We enjoyed living next to her for all those years . She was a wonderful neighbor and great friend to all of us . I’m so sorry for y’all’s loss I know y’all will miss her so much she sure loved y’all . We will keep all of you in our prayers .
