Terry was my neighbor for the last 15 years. He and I joked about having paid enough rent to have paid for this building by now. He deemed himself the mayor of our building. We talked at least once a week in passing when we would see each other outside. We saw lots if neighbors come and go and always made sure that everyone knew the "rules" of our building. He was a good neighbor and we always knew that we could call on each other if we needed anything. It seems so strange to know that he is no longer here. Rest in peace Terry. I am glad that all of your physical pain is gone.

Terry and I was in the same class in the 7th grade at Tallulah Falls Boarding and College Prep School, Tallulah Falls, GA... We sat together in church...we along with other students would hike in the mountains and to the Tallulah Gorge on the weekends. His family lived in Gray and I lived in Macon...One year Terry, my brother and I came home on Greyhound bus for the Christmas Holidays.
Terry was a wonderful and caring friend..Thoughts and prayers to his family during this difficult time..

Terry Groover was my brother. I will love him forever. He was the ONLY person who could make his daddy laugh so hard that his teeth showed. ...He was also the only person who could anger him the most.. a step ahead in wit, and johnny on the spot with an apron, two cutting utensils and a piping hot turkey...I never challenged him in a "slang" or "southern colloquialisms because he was the King, and I didn't dare debate him on anything about keeping a care clean, running, or where the crease should be in a pair of pants, but Billy Graham, was a topic we loved to discuss. I know he revered Mr. Billy Graham, almost as much as he did his mother. ...Had both their pictures with him at all times. He was my brother, I will miss him , but I will always smile and think of him.

Terry had a gift to make others feel comfortable. I was new to a vendor role when I met him at Sysco Atlanta years ago. Terry quickly made me feel at ease. He continually looked out for me with bits of wisdom, guidance and caring.

His elaborate stories would always make him endearing to those he met. We were traveling one day in Charleston when we found ourselves off the beaten path. Terry met no one he considered a stranger so he asked a guy at an old style service station, How do you get to Kiawah Island? The old timer leaned heavily in his straight back chair to reply My brother takes me.

Terry had a laugh like thunder off that one. We had a hundred stories like that together. Terry showed me mercy and compassion when I needed it most. He was a very good friend. He will be truly missed.

Our bodyshop just finished repairs to Terry's car. I feel as though we had known each other for years instead of months. I feel there was a reason we met. I'm glad to have had the pleasure of meeting Terry. My thoughts are with his family.

I didn't really know Terry but he introduced himself to me at the Publix meat counter about two years ago. He explained to me how to select the best cut of beef and told me his story. This conversation lasted about an hour and he left an impression.
I was shocked to see his obituary today and will keep the family in my thoughts and prayers.
