Doris Bridges McDonald
PERRY, GA- Doris Bridges McDonald, 89, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, from injuries sustained in a car accident. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018, AT 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home.
Doris was born in Bronx, New York, to the late Lee and Alice Earley Bridges. She grew up in New York, lived in Florida and parts of Georgia. She retired as a lab technician from CibaVision where they made contact lenses. She worked at the Georgia Baptist Hospital as a neonatal caregiver. Doris was a member of St. Peter Cleaver Catholic Church in Macon. She enjoyed volunteering for Criminals on Patrol in Perry, Warner Robins, and Macon. She was an avid bowler and was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy. Doris was a passenger car transfer driver for Ford Motor Company for years. She loved traveling to all of the various places that it led her.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Norman McDonald; her brothers, Robert Bridges, Tom Bridges, and Richard Bridges; and a great-grandson, Hudson Maxon Roland.
Left to cherish the memories of their "Granny" are her children, Thomas Cubellis, Rick Cubellis (Joy), Dennis Cubellis (Peggy), Patti Collett (J.R.), and Jessica Long (Matt); her grandchildren, Sara Cherif, Chris Cubellis, Kelly Cubellis, Crissy Thompson, Justin Roland, Jessi Manly, and Patrick Roland; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Michael Bridges (Janet) and Alice Suhl (Claude); and numerous nieces and nephews.
