Warner Robins, Georgia- Elsie Louise (Bennett) Brown, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 9, 2018, with her beloved husband at her bedside. Services will be held Thursday, July 12, 2018, at 3:00 PM at Oakland Baptist Church. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Oakland Baptist Church; 1509 Russell Pkwy; Warner Robins, GA 31088.
Elsie was born July 29, 1931, in Macon, Georgia, to Charles Leroy and Jessie Adele (Etheridge) Bennett. She owned and operated a ceramic shop in Warner Robins for almost 50 years. Elsie loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Oakland Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and raising her own vegetables. Elsie was proudly and affectionately known to her grandchildren as "Wingaw." She was valedictorian of the last graduating class of Bonaire High School. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Charlotte Bennett Holloway of Warner Robins and Ruth Bennett Clifton of Thomasville.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, AD Brown of Warner Robins; children, LuAnn Brown of Athens and Alan Brown (Kay) of Bishop; brothers, Charles Bennett (Elneta) of Warner Robins, Billy Bennett (Frances) of Byron, and Jim Bennett (Tinian) of Halstead, KS; grandchildren, Andy Brown (Shelby) of Nashville, TN, and Tucker Brown (Tessie) of Kiev, Ukraine, and Leanna Brown of Atlanta; and three great-grandchildren.
