Perry, Georgia- James Walter Moss, Jr., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Heart of Georgia Inpatient Unit in Perry, GA. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Cross Point Baptist Church in Perry, GA. The visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
James was born on July 22, 1967 in Perry, GA to the late James Walter Moss, Sr. and Ruth (Chaney) Moss of Perry, GA. He was a 1985 graduate of Perry High School and went on to play college Football for the Fort Valley State Wildcats during the 1987 and 1988 seasons. James was a member of the Middle Georgia Tennis Center, was a tennis coach and was passionate about tennis and making it possible for everyone to be able to participate in this great sport, in which he loved. He was a community coach at all levels and different sports in Houston County. James was a former Golden Gloves boxing Champion and held multiple runner-up titles with the Tough man competitions. He loved competitive wrestling and coaching local kids to wrestle. James attended The Life Church, where he served and worshipped the Lord. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Molly (Rider) Moss of Perry; mother: Ruth (Chaney) Moss of Perry; sister: Teresa Crawley (Bill) of Perry; brother: Randy Moss (Lisa) of Perry; niece: Ashley Jarrard (AJ); nephews: Payton and Brannen Moss; great-nephew: Colton Jarrard.
