Duluth, GA- John Clark Kitchens, III, age 66, of Duluth passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Rev. Steven Carroll, Rev. Lewis Stover, Rev. Matthew Wigley, & Rev. Grady Mimbs will officiate. Interment will follow at 4:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery & Conservancy in Macon.
Mr. Kitchens was born on November 3, 1950 in Macon where he attended Ft. Hawkins Elementary & Mark Smith High School. John retired from AT&T in 2008 & was the owner of Trinity Lawn Care. Growing up, he was a member of Eastside Baptist Church then Napier Avenue Church of God & Duluth Church of God. He was a church member of Dacula Church of God where he served on the Pastor's Council & as a Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Kitchens was very passionate about God, his family, church family, friends, GA Bulldogs, golf, and hockey.
Mr. Kitchens was preceded in death by; Father: John Clark Kitchens, Jr.; Mother: Virginia Gowder Kitchens; Infant Son; 2 Infant Grandchildren.
He is survived by; Wife of 45 years: Opal Douglas Kitchens; Daughter & Son-in-law: Kimberly & Nathan Bailey; Grandchildren: Katelynn & Logan Bailey, one on the way with an anticipated arrival date of August 14, 2017; Brother & Sister-in-law: Dale & Sharon Kitchens; Niece: Traci Kitchens; Step-Mother: Charleene Hattaway Kitchens; Sisters-in-law: Joyce Ramsey, Doris Fowler, Jewell & David Sangster, Rosemary & Aubrey Hammack; Brother-in-law: Gerald & Sandra Douglas; Nieces & Nephews by marriage; Many Cousins.
Donations to Dacula Church of God: P.O. Box 598 Dacula, GA 30019 may be made in lieu of flowers, if desired.
