Joyce G. Culpepper, 70, long time resident of Fort Valley and recent resident of Manteo, NC, passed away August 2, 2018. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Joyce Culpepper will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Fort Valley, 209 South Miller Street, with Rev. Ed McQueen officiating. The burial will be private.
Born in Taylor County on December 14, 1947, to Dock and Jewell Goodwin, Mrs. Culpepper grew up in Reynolds, GA. She was married on June 22, 1963 to Willie H. 'Billy' Culpepper, Jr. and moved to Fort Valley. Joyce worked at Blue Bird for 30 years, most recently in the receiving department. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Valley serving by leading both the Royal Ambassador and Girls in Action groups, singing in the choir, volunteering in youth ministry, and playing hand bells. Joyce also assisted with costumes for the plays and musicals at Peach County High School.
She is survived by her son, Lance Culpepper and his wife, Jan; and grandchildren, Karynna and Ian Culpepper.
