Leonard L. Cone
November 8, 1923 - June 12, 2018
Cochran, GA- Leonard L. Cone, age 94, died Monday, June 11, 2018, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 15, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. in the Salem Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Cone, born in Phoenix City, AL, had lived in Cochran since 1950. He was the son of the late Menzo David and Mary Etta Hale Cone and was the husband of the late Emma Belle Powell Cone. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Byron Cone and Julius Cone and his sisters, Beatrice Cone Wilson and Evelyn Cone Sparrow. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base and a US Marine Veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Mr. Leonard loved softball and was a coach for over 40 years and a pitcher in fast pitch softball. He was an avid fisherman and loved gardening, especially roses.
Survivors are his children, Mary Ann (Ray) Jarrell and Rick (Gail) Cone of Cochran, Martha (Ken) Mills of Peachtree City; grandchildren, Greg (Donna) Jarrell, Carissa Jarrell Gibbs, Eric (Stacy) Jarrell, Andrea Jarrell (Jason) Floyd, Adam (Caitlin) Cone, Morgan (Stephen) Carter of Cochran, Dee Jarrell (Frankie) Harrell of Eastman and Krista (Michael) Davis of Tyrone; twenty five great grandchildren and twenty one great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 107 Salem Church Road, Cochran, GA 31014 or to a military fund of choice.
