Lula Steele Brann
Fort Valley, GA- Lula Steele Brann, 95, passed away at her home on January 11, 2018. Family will receive friends beginning a 1:00PM on Sunday, January 14, 2018, in the Chapel of Fort Valley United Methodist Church, 301 West Church Street, with funeral service following at 2:00PM, with Rev. James Hamlin officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Born in Henderson County, Kentucky, Mrs. Brann was the oldest of the remaining 13 children born to the late Randall K. and Ora Lee Denton Steele. A member of Fort Valley United Methodist Church for many years, she was a dedicated Christian mother and wife. She was office manager for her late husband, Dr. A. D. Brann's many businesses and worked hand in hand with him on many projects throughout their lives. She was as comfortable with refinishing furniture as keeping books. She loved to decorate her home and was quite the gardener who loved flowers and birds and working in her yard to make it beautiful.
Survivors include her children, David Brann (Marta) of Philadelphia, PA, Diane Robinette (Bob Benson) of Greenville, NC, and Carol Wallace (Roger) of Graford, TX; grandchildren, Sabra Hinson of Fort Worth, TX, and Justin Wallace (Tammy) of San Francisco, CA; great grandchildren, Sawyer Donnell, Georgia Donnell, and Jacob Hinson, all of Fort Worth, TX; and sisters and brother, Goldie Sasse (Charlie) of Fairbury, IL, Doris Steele and R. K. Steele (Lu Ann) of Henderson, KY, and Charlotte Perrin of Georgetown, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. A. D. Brann and a daughter, Linda Kaye Brann.
