Macon, GA- Michael T. Hopkins, Sr. passed away peacefully, Sunday evening, March 4, 2018, in his home, surrounded by his loved ones.
Mike was born in Bedford, Virginia. He met his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Martha Foster Hopkins, in nearby Lynchburg. Mike was a doting husband and father who loved his family above all else. He bravely and nobly served his country in Germany with the United States Army as a member of the 101st Airborne until he was Honorably Discharged. Following his military career, he was a trooper with the Virginia State Police. Mike enjoyed his career working as the Resident Agent in Charge for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives where he was selected as Special Agent of the Year in 1974.
