Patricia Kay Summey Joyner
May 12, 1939 - January 7, 2018
Macon, GA- Patricia Kay Summey Joyner, age 78, loving wife, mother, and grandmother was welcomed into the arms of her Savior, Sunday, January 7, 2018, after a six-year battle with brain cancer.
An avid golfer, arts and crafts enthusiast, and karaoke singer, she lived a full life centered on family, enriched by friends and fulfilled by serving and supporting others.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 2 o'clock at Pierce Chapel Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia.
Born May 12, 1939, she was the only child of Marion and Paul Summey. Her father played trumpet for Lawrence Welk and she spent her childhood years traveling with the band. When she entered high school, the family settled in Ft. Myers, Florida, where she was 1959 queen of the Edison Pageant of Light.
Pat received a bachelor of music degree from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, where she was 1961 May queen and met her adoring husband, Jerry Wade Joyner, to whom she was married July 15, 1961.
In her late forties she began a career with US Air. She enjoyed traveling and supporting each grandchild in their personal pursuits. She was positive, supportive, always smiling and everyone's biggest cheerleader.
Pat is survived by her husband, Jerry; her children, Kim and Paul Stehr, Wade Joyner, Leslie and David Langley; six grandchildren, Lexi, Connor, Cameron, Caroline, Brooks and Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to University of Florida Shands Children's Hospital Dance Marathon.
