Sandra Dixon Fleisch
09/04/1944 - 03/06/2018
Austell, GA- Sandra Dixon Fleisch, age 73, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at the Wellstar Tranquility Hospice Facility in Austell, GA. She was born in Macon, GA on September 4, 1944, and adopted as an infant by the late Sarah and Swain Dixon. A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday, March 15 in Marietta, GA at SouthCare Cremation & Funeral Society. An informal Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a future date in the Perry, GA area.
Sandra was easy to love mainly because she was so full of love herself. She loved everyone and sought love and attention from everyone she met. She was totally devoted to her friends and family, a simple soul with a heart of gold, fun loving, happy-go-lucky, stubborn, and often full of mischief. Her favorite things were: going somewhere-anywhere (especially out to eat), old movies, bingo, Walmart shopping, MASH, decorator rooster paraphernalia, and Thomas Kinkade collections; however, nothing compared to her "John Wayne" addiction. Never has there been a bigger fan. She had John Wayne DVDs, calendars, plates, checkbook cover, hats, blankets, and on and on. Her home could possibly have been mistaken for a John Wayne museum!
As her health declined, Sandra moved to Douglasville, GA to be near her family. Prior to that she had lived in the middle GA area for most of her life. She retired many years ago as an inspector from Anchor Glass Containers in Warner Robbins, GA.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Jordan Setchen; nephew Sean Britt and his daughter Laney; niece Shannon Hughes and her husband Jeff and their boys Bryan, Kyle, and Conner.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in Sandra's memory to her favorite charity, St. Jude Childrens's Research Hospital.
