Macon , GA- Early in the morning on Monday, August 27, 2018, Valerie Marie Crawford Lawrence, 60 took her final journey to be with her Lord & Savior in Heaven.
Visitation with the family will be on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church at 600 Eisenhower Parkway, Macon GA 31206.
The funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Sandridge Baptist Church, located 221 Sandridge Church Rd, Hawkinsville GA 31036, with Pastor Eddie D. Smith officiating. Following the service, Mrs Lawrence will be laid to rest in the Sandridge Baptist Church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Methodist Home of Children and Youth at 304 Pierce Avenue, Macon GA 31204 or Sandridge Baptist Church, 221 Sandridge Baptist Church Rd. Hawkinsville GA 31306.
Services entrusted to Bentley & Sons Funeral Home, Macon.

Pastor Jeffrey, Val and I were roommates in Atlanta many moons ago. I will never forget her laughter and her always calling me by my last name. We lost touch after several years. During one of our phone calls, I remember her saying that if she died today, it would be okay because of the love the two of you shared and your beautiful children. I will never forget that. The days to come will be difficult but Praise God for the time the two of you shared. God bless you and your family..."to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord".

My heart is broken with the loss of my Dear Dear Friend. There truly are no words to express the emptiness in my life as well as everyone that had the great pleasure of meeting this precious lady. I will miss that wonderful smile and those long lingering hugs that only Val could give. Nothing was more heartwarming than to see the love between Val and her loving husband and children. I loved to stop by Val's office on my way to the FHC clinic. She had paperwork for me but we usually ended up just laughing and teasing each other. Although I am saddened by her passing, I am comforted to know she is in heaven. And something else I know, Val is a 'SWEETIE!'

It is with heavy heart I read this. Valerie and I worked together at the Family Health Center for 12 years. She was my buddy/confidant. We watchhed each other's children grow up and had some really great times together. I miss her already. My deepest sympathies to her family.
