James A. Swigart
MANSFIELD: James A. Swigart, age 87, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was born March 4, 1925 in Mansfield to the late Addison Joseph and Lulu Catherine (Beveridge) Swigart. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII serving in the European Theatre. James retired from Penn Athletic Products and was previously employed as the manager at Yunckers Sporting Goods. In his younger years, he worked with the B & O Railroad for 10 years. An outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed playing golf. His favorite activity was spending summers in Canada with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Martha (Brown) Swigart, whom he married on November 16, 1947; two sons, James (Jane) Swigart of Port Clinton and Tim (Cindy) Swigart of Shelby; and a granddaughter, Laura Ann Swigart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Carroll.
Friends and family may visit from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road. The memorial service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Masonic services and military honors presented. Burial will be at a later date in Guernsey Memorial Gardens, Cambridge, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Northwest Ohio Division. Mrs. Swigart and family (you in particular, Swigzee) very sorry to hear of Mr. Swigart's passing. I remember many good times at your home..one in particular.. Getting ewkered on both bowers and a king...dang Swigzee had the other four of suit and an ace...man. Throw down a Leaning Tower pizza or sub for me in Mr. swigart's memory.

To the family of Mr. Swigart, I used to work at Yunckers (1980-84) and every time Jim came in to the store he always brighten my day. I'm praying for Jim and his family he will be missed.
