Ruth Whisler Obituary

Ruth E. Whisler

SHELBY: Ruth Eileen (Feaster) Whisler, age 77, of Shelby, died Sunday, February 24, 2013 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center after an extended illness.

Ruth was born on February 6, 1936 in Shelby to the late Charles and Emma (Boyce) Feaster and was a 1954 graduate of Union High School. Ruth drove bus for 27 years for Crestview Schools and after retirement she spent over 10 years at Miracle Ear in Ontario. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church where she was involved with the Alter and Rosary Society and the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed bowling and camping, but most of all, Ruth was especially proud of her family.

On March 20, 1954, Ruth married Francis Whisler and he survives. Also surviving are 4 children: Diana (Gary) Kerr of Grove City, Russ (Kathy) Whisler of Ashland, Lori (Dale) Dye of Marion, Timothy (Lisa) Whisler of Mansfield; 7 grandsons: Kevin (Stephanie) Kerr, Andy (Ashley) Kerr, Ryan, Daniel, Joseph, Jacob, and Austin Whisler; 3 great grandchildren: Caleb, Hailey, and Sara Kerr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lavern Feaster.

Friends are welcome on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where a rosary will be recited at 7:45 PM by the Daughters of Isabella. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 10 AM with Fr. John Missler and Fr. Nick Cunningham concelebrating at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Crestview Scholarship Fund, Ashland Cross Country Parents Organization, or The James Cancer Center.
