Charles J. Wise

PERRYSVILLE: Charles J. Wise, 87, of rural Perrysville, died Wednesday afternoon, December 19 in Hospice of North Central Ohio, Ashland following a three month illness. Mr. Wise was born November 13, 1925 in Perrysville, the son of the late Charles and Martha Lucille (Frank) Wise. He was a life-long Perrysville area resident and a US Navy veteran of World War II. Charles was a 29 year employee of Ideal Electric, Mansfield, retiring in 1987. He loved working and maintaining his farm and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Perrysville and VFW Post 8586, Perrysville. On March 19, 1945 he married Erma L. Smith and she died August 29, 2003.

He is survived by two sons, Larry (Ruth Ann) Wise of Loudonville, and Glenn (Sharon Crawford) Wise of Willard; a daughter, Shirley (Norman) Sprang of Loudonville; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Mabel Sprang of Perrysville. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, 4 brothers, Glenn, Clarence, Ira and Harvey Black, and a sister, Martha Graven.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 22 at 1:00pm in BYERLY-LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE, with Rev. Howard Burnett officiating. Burial with military honors by the VFW and American Legion will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville. Friends may call Friday from 5-7pm in the funeral home.
