Andrew C. Francis Obituary
Andrew C. Francis

Bellville - Everything happens for a reason. Nothing occurs by chance, it's all part of God's divine plan. Learn to trust, and go where He leads you. Trusting God during the good times is easy, it's in the deep valleys when character and faith become real. The valley of the shadow of death is still only a shadow, as the Lord in His sovereignty delivered Andy to rest September 12, 2018 from Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. He was 31.

Born July 2, 1987 in Sidney to Craig and Tracey Francis, Andy was graduated from Fairlawn High School in 2005 and earned his bachelor's degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2009.

He worked for Columbia Gas of Ohio and was respected among his peers as the guy to call for help and advice. It was after a work vehicle accident Andy became a safety advocate for the company traveling far and wide sharing his story.

Strong in his faith, he was a long-time member of Green View United Church of Christ where he was active in the youth activities. He attended Impact Worship Center.

Sports have always been a part of Andy's life playing baseball, basketball, track and soccer, but his favorite was basketball. His talent, conduct and positivity on the court not only earned him a four-year letter at The Naz, but also a reputation that would make any coach proud to have him on his staff. Andy shared his love of sports with his three sisters, supporting them in their athletics, and was proud to coach T-ball in the Clear Fork Youth League. One of the things Andy was most looking forward to, was teaching the game to his children, taking every opportunity to play with them.

Fun loving, he loved planning the next weekend's escape with the kids to a waterpark or zoo, a bonfire in the backyard with friends, or a week at Lake Cumberland. He loved everything about Ohio State but also followed his Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. Always busy, Andy never sat still…even when he was sleeping. He constantly had his phone pressed to his ear, chatting away to his family and friends, just to see how their day was or what was new. Andy was quick with sarcasm and humor and loved to tease, but everyone knew it came from a place of love. Andy would give you the shirt off his back, as he was a man of encouragement.

Andy's #1 priority was Jena, Cooper and Josie. Known to spoil the children, he wanted to give them the world and teach them everything. Family time was his best time, playing, romping and just sharing a laugh.

He is survived by his love Jena R. Francis of Bellville, his precious children Cooper and Josie Francis; parents Craig and Tracey Francis of Sidney; three sisters Ashley and Kenny Miller, Amanda and Xavier Gross of Lima, and Audrey Francis of Sidney; paternal grandparents Don and Crystal Francis of Sidney and Barbara Smith of West Chester; father-in-law and mother-in-law Marty and Sherry Dickerson of Butler, brother-in-law Jake and Kelly Dickerson of Mt. Gilead; nieces and nephews Maddie, Kayden, Riley and Kinley Miller; and a host of friends and family who have been a tremendous support.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Myron and Sandra Smith, and two tiny children who were ushered directly to heaven.

Friends may call Monday, September 17, 2018 from 2-7 pm in Impact Worship Center, 160 Woodruff Road, Mansfield, where the service honoring the Life of Andrew Francis will be held Tuesday, at 11 am. Pastor Patrick Bailey and Pastor Jim Oates will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery. The Bellville Snyder Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Memorial donations in memory of Andy may be made to New Perspective Foundation or an education fund for his children (please make checks payable to Jena Francis).

Please to share a special memory of Andy or message of sympathy to the family.
