Ashland - Anne A. Payne, 71, of Ashland died Sunday evening, June 10, 2018 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus following a short illness. Anne was born September 19, 1946 in Greenwood, MS and was the daughter of the late Lloyd C. and Jane A. (Ashley) Chambers. Anne was enriched by living in multiple countries as she grew up within a military family. She was a resident of Ashland the last few years, living in the Loudonville-Perrysville area for many years. Anne was a 1965 graduate of Tempe Union High School in Tempe, Arizona and a 1980 Summa Cum Laude graduate of The Ohio State University and received the Outstanding Senior Award. On December 10, 1976 she married Jack Payne and he died August 10, 2003. She worked with her husband and was co-owner of Payne and Associates accounting firm for many years. Anne was a strong wife, mother, and outstanding grandmother and friend. She was also a foster mother to dozens of teens, a guide for the adolescent friends of her children, and was known as a deeply loyal friend. Anne's family would like to thank the Martin House Assisted Living staff for the care and compassion shown to their mother over the last several years.

Anne is survived by four daughters: Patty (Gary) Forbes, Tonya (Jim) Stanger, both of Perrysville, Amanda Payne of Loudonville, and Kim Ark of Lewis Center; one son: Bill Payne of Galion; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Payne; her daughter, Megan Payne; her parents, Lloyd and Jane Chambers; her brother, Lloyd "Buckey" Chambers, Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Bev Payne; and her husband's parents: William and Ella Mae "Jo" Payne.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June14, 2018 at 11:00 am in LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, Loudonville. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 PM in the funeral home. Private burial will be in Loudonville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be donated to Dale-Roy School & Workshop, 1256 S. Center St., Ashland, OH 44805, or , 500 W.
