Annie (Ann) Bond

MANSFIELD: Annie (Ann) Bond was born January 27, 1931, in Columbus, Mississippi and passed this life on Saturday, February 23, 2013.

She was the eldest daughter of the late Willie Curenton and Malissia (Petty) Curenton Swope.

Ann came to Ohio as a teenager and spent her adult life in Mansfield. She worked at Kobackers Independent Towel Co. and Shelby Depot before becoming a full-time homemaker for her husband and two sons. She was united in marriage to Thomas O. Bond on January 26, 1956.

Ann's hobbies included flower gardening and sewing. She often sewed clothing for herself, sisters, and nieces. She also enjoyed and spent time trying her hand at interior decorating. Ann was a faithful member of the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Thomas; two sons, Thomas and John; four sisters, Bennie (John) Shoulders of Mansfield, Doris (James) White of Cincinnati, Carolyn Adkison and Mary Smith; one brother, John (Lynda) Kidd, all of Mansfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Curenton, and her parents, Rev. Johnnie Swope and Malissia Swope, and two sisters, Sallie McKinney and Mary L. Kidd.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Homegoing services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Leon Bond and Pastor James Bond. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh, Ohio.
