Carl H. "Nobby" Noblet Obituary
Carl H. "Nobby" Noblet

Lexington - Carl H. "Nobby" Noblet, age 87, peacefully passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 in his Lexington home surrounded by his family.

He was born September 30, 1930 to parents Homer W. & Gladys F. (Scarborough) Noblet. Corporal Noblet proudly served his country as a member of the US Army and was stationed in Korea as a jeep mechanic during the Korean War.

On September 27, 1952 he married Patricia Ann Vanderbilt and together they shared nearly 50 wonderful years until Pat passed away on March 3, 2002. Carl later married Barbara Ann (McCready) Leedy.

He retired from Therm-O-Disc in 1984. Carl was a very hardworking man who always provided for his family. He was a member of Fusion Church in Lexington and the American Paint Horse Association where he showed horses for many years. He loved going out to restaurants and spending time with his friends—especially over a cup of coffee. Carl will be remembered as the "loveable, cranky guy" with an ornery sense of humor and a big heart.

He is survived by his wife Barb Noblet of Lexington; two daughters and sons-in-law Missie & Jim Streib of Lexington and Cyndie & Craig Cooper of Arcadia, Florida; son and daughter-in-law Bradley & Jane Noblet of Warsaw; son-in-law Jerry Griffith of Lexington; step-son Doug (Jean) Leedy of Bellville; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters Helen Herman and Millie Morehead; sisters-in-law Maxine (Dick) Meredith and Regina Sand; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom he each loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia "Patty" Noblet; daughter Vickie Griffith; siblings Edward Noblet, Merle Noblet, Harold Noblet, Lucy Noblet, and an infant brother.

His family will receive friends Friday, July 13, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring Carl's life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday and his son-in-law Pastor Jim Streib will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park near Lexington with military honors performed by the American Legion Post #535 of Bellville.

His family wishes to thank Jake & Sherrie Lyons and the whole hospice team for their excellent care of Carl. Contributions in Carl's memory to OhioHealth Hospice may be made at the funeral home.
