Evelyn Dill Obituary
Evelyn G. White Dill

MANSFIELD: A good measure of kindness is loving people more than they deserve, finding the good in everyone, and doing more for others than they expect. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Evelyn Dill led a life characterized by that kind of kindness and generosity.

Evelyn went to be with the Lord Saturday morning October 13, 2012 from Winchester Terrace. She was 91.

Born Evelyn Gertrude White December 7, 1920 in Mansfield to Ralph and Bessie (Swevel) White, she was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1940 and remained a lifelong Mansfield resident.

On February 17, 1945 she married R. Trent Dill. She and Trent loved music, especially the Big Band era. They loved dancing together in the dance halls up at Lake Erie, and traveling the American Southwest and Mexico, wintering 13 years in Alamo, Texas.

Evelyn worked 23 years as a group leader with the former Stevens Manufacturing in Lexington.

She was a longtime member of Lexington Church of Christ, and enjoyed the fellowship of Bible study of the church.

She enjoyed golfing and playing cards, cooking and baking, and dearly loved to make gifts of her home made sugar cookies or lemon meringue pies.

She will be greatly missed by her son Edward (Sondra) Dill of Columbus; daughter Patricia (Greg Letts) Smith of Mansfield; two grandchildren Michael T. Dill and Marcy L. (Samuel) Featheringill; four great grandchildren Jamie Epps, Anthony Jeffrey, Troy Foor and Zerick Michael Dill; great great grandchildren Sylas Ditmars, Vyctoria Ditmars and Lyncoln Lambert; sisters-in-law Betty McCammon and Sue Pelasky both of Lexington; and nieces and nephews.

Her devoted husband of 60 years preceded her in death on March 10, 2005. Also deceased are her siblings Harold & Lillian White, Vernon & June White, Bob & Luella White, Ruth & Joe Snavely, Ralph & Eileen White, and Majoria & Richard Hanna and brothers-in-law Lynn "Bud" McCammon and Edmund Pelasky.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home with pastor TJ Waters officiating. Interment will follow in Lexington Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to Lexington Church of Christ may be made at the funeral home.
