Flossie Fensch

Mansfield - Flossie Fensch passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 in Good Shepherd Home in Ashland. She was 100 years old.

She was born November 12, 1917 to parents Lee Erwin & Rena Belle (Wolford) Hoover in Bellville, Ohio. After Flossie was graduated from high school, she attended business college. For over 27 years she worked in the office at Tappan.

During World War II Flossie left the work force to help with the war effort. She served in the U.S. Navy stateside in Washington, D.C.

On September 16, 1966 she married Edwin August Fensch and they spent 31 wonderful years together until he passed away in 1991.

Flossie was a long-time member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Mansfield and the Tappan Alumni ladies group.

She is survived by two step sons Timothy and Linda Fensch of Walterboro, SC and Thomas Fensch of North Chesterfield, VA; grandsons Joel and Paulina Fensch of Johns Creek, GA, and Nathaniel and Manna Fensch of China; three great grandchildren Alyson and Emila Fensch and baby boy Fensch (yet to be named); her sister Clara Bachelder of Mansfield; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Alva Hoover, Melvin Hoover, Orland Hoover, Mary Gast, and Wava Thompson.

The Fensch family will receive friends Monday, August 13, 2018 from 11:30 am to 12:30 p.m. in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A graveside service honoring Flossie will be held Monday at 1 pm in Mansfield Cemetery. The Rev. Jared Ruari will speak and military honors will be performed by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.

Memorial contributions to the Parkinson's Foundation, Ohio Health Hospice or the Renaissance Performing Arts may be made at the funeral home.
