James Michael "Mike" Jackson Obituary
James Michael "Mike" Jackson

Mt. Gilead - James Michael "Mike" Jackson passed away Saturday evening, July 7, 2018 in his rural Morrow County Home. He was 77.

He was born April 26, 1941 in Shelby to parents John Ray & Lucile (McPeek) Jackson. Mike was graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1959.

He worked as a Mason, most of his career with K&M Masonry where he worked for many years until retiring in the early 90's.

He was a social member of Robert L. Castor Post #5101 VFW in Lexington.

In spare time, Mike took pleasure in being outdoors. Whether mushroom hunting in his secret spot, or dropping a line in waiting for the fish to bite, Mike loved spending time in the woods or by the water. He also enjoyed reading mysteries and westerns, and being his ornery cantankerous self.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Jolene (Barrick) Jackson of Mt. Gilead; son Chad (Stacy) Jackson of Mansfield; stepson A. Mack (Karen) Aurand of Florida; two step daughters Jennifer Aurand (friend Darin Hamblin) of Mt. Gilead and Jodi Aurand (friend Dave Mitchell) of Mansfield; three grandchildren Makayla Sutton and Grayson and Sadie Aurand; brother John D. (Marilyn) Jackson of Mansfield; mother-in-law Mary J. Barrick of Bellville; brothers-in-law Dale Ford of Mansfield and Harlan (Lisa) Barrick of Bellville; sister-in-law Mary Barrick (friend Drew Kinkaid) of Oberlin; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and extended family.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a sister Carolyn Ford and brother Norman Ray Jackson.

Although no public service will be held in Mike's memory, his family hopes that you will hold him in your heart as you remember him in your own special way.

Snyder Funeral Homes is honored to serve Mike's family and encourage you to share a fond memory or message of condolence to them at SnyderFuneralHomes.com
