Julian Lee Fuqua

Mansfield - Julian Lee Fuqua, 48, of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Julian was born on June 20, 1970 in Mansfield, Ohio.

Julian attended Mansfield Senior High School and Albion High School in Michigan where he played basketball and football. Julian loved to talk, never met a stranger, was always willing to help others out, and loved that technology made it easier to communicate with friends and family. He had an abundance of friends, and was very family oriented. Family was very important to him, he was a loved son and a devoted father. He was involved and active with the Mansfield City Parks, always offering his services to coach basketball tournaments each year and other youth activities. He volunteered his services at his church, Latter Rain Church of God in Christ, with the Wednesday free meal.

He is survived by his mother, Viola Fuqua; his children, Tahiya Fuqua, Russell Brown, Monikka Fuqua, Tamia Brown, Brody Killian and Jaquan Fuqua; brothers, Quinten and Jayson Fuqua; aunts, Phyllis (Elder Tillman Jr.) Franklin, Mattie Williams, Essie Bass, Joann Cory and Patricia Ford; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; his companion, Kimberly Taylor; special friend, Sharon Staley; and many other friends and family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Mildred Fuqua; great-grandparents, Henry and Mattie Strong; aunts, Wanda Fuqua and Emma Warfield, and uncle, Robert Fuqua, Jr.

Friends and family may call on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Latter Rain Church of God in Christ, 259 Glessner Avenue, from 10:00-11:00 am. The funeral service with Superintendent Louis Blevins, Jr. officiating will follow at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest in Mansfield Cemetery.
