Kenneth J. Humbert

Galion: Kenneth J. Humbert, 77, of Galion, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Galion Community Hospital, Galion, after battling with COPD for the past year.

Kenny was born in Omega, MN on December 11, 1939 to the late Christ and Elizabeth (Tibodeau) Humbert. He married Donna M. Phelps on April 3, 1965 and she preceded him in death.

Kenny was a member of Canaan United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Intrepid and was his favorite ship. Kenny worked in construction for many years with Pete Miller Roof & Sheet Metal, retiring in 1995. Kenny loved fishing, reading, sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins and also enjoyed watching the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kenny liked to watch college softball and the Little League World Series. He coached Little League Baseball and was involved with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts many years ago in Galion. Part of his daily routine was going to Posey D's and having lunch.

Kenny is survived by his children; Denise Humbert, Galion, Chris Humbert, Mansfield, his grandson; Phillip and Sarah Ross, Mansfield, three great-granddaughters; his brother; Lawrence and Evelyn Humbert, Fergus Falls, MN, his sisters; Marie Dalman, Pelican Rapids, MN, and Joyce Hill, Peoria, IL.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM and 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion, with Pastors Pat Fruth and Pastor David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Iberia Cemetery, Iberia. Full military honors will be given at the graveside by the U.S. Navy and the Crestline/Galion Veterans Organizations.

Kenny's family would like to thank the ICU staff at Galion Hospital for all their help.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray Kenny's medical bills in care of the funeral home.
