Mary Louise Ormiston

Ontario - Mary Louise Ormiston, 93, passed away Saturday evening, January 12, 2019, at Elmcroft of Ontario. In her last years, Mary resided at Elmcroft of Ontario where she was cared for by the loving staff. She was under the care of Hospice of North Central Ohio at the time of her passing.

She was born May 23, 1925, in Erwin, Tennessee, to the late John and Hazel (Cash) Stanley. She was a military wife, following her husband, Clyde, wherever the U.S. Army stationed him during his career. Mary knew the importance of family and truly adored her grandchildren. She spoiled everyone with her wonderful baking and cooking. In her free time, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, and spending time at the beach. Along with her husband, she was a founding member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Alliance, Ohio. After moving, she attended Lexington Presbyterian Church.

Left to cherish the wonderful memories created with Mary are her children, Gayle (Lynn) Ormiston of Savannah, GA, and Joy (Hashem) Fatemi of Fullerton, CA; four grandchildren, Rachel (Jason) Caffoe of Shoreline, WA, Shahla Fatemi of Long Beach, CA, Michael Ormiston of Brooklyn, NY, and Anna Ormiston of Penacook, NH; two great-grandchildren, Hazel and Margot Caffoe; a sister, Carol Cox of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde Ormiston; and six brothers and sisters, Marge Ormiston, Patricia Anderson, Ramona Hoffer, Robert Stanley, William Stanley and Kaye Lynn Orolin.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Private graveside services will be held in Highland Memorial Park, Beloit, Ohio, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. Memorial contributions may be made to the V.F.W. or the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
