Michael Francis "Mike" Schwaner Obituary
Michael Francis "Mike" Schwaner

Mansfield - Michael Francis "Mike" Schwaner went to be with the Lord Monday, May 13, 2019 from his home. He was 56.

He was born September 20, 1962 in Mansfield to parents Hermann & Elizabeth (Dinger) Schwaner. He graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1980.

Mike worked third shift as a pipefitter for ArcelorMittal.

In his spare time, he took pleasure in soccer and was an avid Arsenal Gunner fan. He coached the varsity boys and girl's soccer teams at St. Peters. He enjoyed working in the yard, tinkering on cars and working with his hands. Above all else he loved his family; especially playing with his kids and grandkids. He even considered breaking out of the hospital one time just to be able to make it to one of his daughter's sporting events.

He is survived by his wife Diane Schwaner; children Michael J. Schwaner, Helena Schwaner Fox, Josie Schwaner; Matthew (Kalyn) Michael; Collin Michael, and Evan (Tiffany) Michael; grandchildren Skylar, Hailey, Anthony, Riley and Raegan; parents Hermann & Elizabeth Schwaner; brother Mark (Corrine) Schwaner and their children Jake and Elaine "Lainey"; numerous extended family including Lynne (Takos) Schwaner.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by close grandparents Frank & Elizabeth Dinger and Michael & Barbara Schwaner.

The Schwaner family will receive friends Thursday, May 16, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral Mass honoring Michael's life will be held Friday, May 17, 2019, in St. Peter's Catholic Church beginning at 10 a.m. Rev. Father Gregory Hite will officiate. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.

Contributions in Mike's memory to the Clear Fork Athletic Boosters (on the memo line please write Women's Basketball) may be made at the funeral home.
