Mansfield - Robert M. Arehart passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2018 in Lexington Court Care Center. He was 92.

Robert was born December 7, 1926 to parents George L. and Laura E. (Herring) in Lucas. He graduated from Lucas High School with the class of 1944.

Robert was on the basketball team and caught the eye of a cheerleader named Margaret Callahan and the rest is history. They were married on April 21, 1946. Almost daily Bob sang "I love you, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck". They had celebrated 72 years before Margaret passed away on September 16, 2018. They are together again, forever.

Robert worked for 35 years in the office of Mansfield Tire and Rubber, and also as Chief Deputy at the Richland County Auditors office retiring in 1992 with 16 years of service.

He was a member of the Lexington Grace Brethren Church and recently attended Hilltop Community Church. Robert enjoyed woodworking and gardening and was a member of the Mansfield Tire and Rubber 25 year club.

He is survived by daughters Susan (Michael) Johnson of Pagosa Springs, CO, Catherine (Bruce) Bachelder of Lexington, OH, Deborah Arehart of Lexington, OH, and Laura (Jeffrey) Carter Lexington, OH; seven grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to his wife, Margaret, he was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard E. Arehart and his wife Martha, and infant sister Margaret Arehart.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. His family hopes that you will hold him in your heart as you remember him at this time.
