Sandra "Sandy" J. Bowersock

Mansfield - Sandra "Sandy" J. Bowersock, 83, of Mansfield, passed away late Wednesday evening, September 12, 2018, at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby. She was born February 23, 1935, in Shelby, Ohio, one of six daughters of the late Lynn and Mary (Hodges) Washburn.

Raised in northern Richland County, she was a graduate of Union Rural High School with the Class of 1953. Sandy married her beloved husband, Roy Bowersock, on June 7, 1953 and started her family shortly thereafter. She began her working career at Sprint as a key punch operator and retired as a supervisor after 24 years of service. In her retirement, Sandy enjoyed camping, traveling and following her grandchildren's sports activities. She was an avid reader.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 65 years, Roy Bowersock; four children, Terry (Phyllis) Bowersock, Jack (Hannah) Bowersock, Tim (Deakila) Bowersock and Kathi Haubiel (John Adams); ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by five sisters, Maxine Mehall, Helen Woods, Joanne Dickson, Marilyn Young, and Marie Erndt.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service conducted by Pastor Mike Futrell will follow immediately at 12:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh, Ohio.
