Walter E. Shrewsbury

LEXINGTON: Walter E. Shrewsbury, age 89, passed away Tuesday morning, October 2, 2012 at Lexington Court Care Center. He was born August 23, 1923 in Athens County in the little town of Lathrop, Ohio to the late Ashley and Ivel (Coulter) Shrewsbury. Walter was a member of First Church God, Park Avenue West. He retired from General Motors in 1988 after 31 years of service. He had previously served as recording secretary for General Motors Retirees. In his free time, he enjoyed working crossword puzzles, working in the garden and traveling.

He is survived by his children, Frederick Shrewsbury of Fredericktown, Mark (Roberta) Shrewsbury of Crestline, Alisa (Aaron) Reinhart of Lexington, Kim Shrewsbury of Crestline, Susan Hardrick of Crestline; stepson, Richard (Marie) Lyon of Mansfield; grandchildren, Darron, Devon and Darcie Reinhart, Angela, Erica and Mark II Shrewsbury, Kevin Pugh, Ricky Jr., Dale and Brad Lyon, Michelle Shrewsbury, Mandy Jiles, Chasity Moton, LaTasha Shrewsbury and Leslie Hardrick; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Brown of St. Petersburg, FL; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Mildred Shrewsbury, married for 15 years, Virginia Shrewsbury, married for 30 years, and Esther Shrewsbury, married for 4 years; a daughter, Judy Shrewsbury; a daughter-in-law, Val Shrewsbury; and siblings, Harold, Henry, and Alvin Shrewsbury, Jesse James, Rosebelle Stephenson and Dorothy Horn; and sister-in-law, Myrene Shrewsbury.

Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012 at First Church of God, 1756 Park Avenue West, Ontario. The funeral service conducted by Rev.
