1939 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
William A. "Bill" Reis

Mansfield - William A. "Bill" Reis, 79, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in the early morning hours after a very long battle with the illness called Parkinson's Disease. He dealt with this disease for 22 years and has now been released from his earthly confines to a wonderful freedom only those that have gone before us know. Bill was born on June 7, 1939 in Shelby, Ohio to William A. "Art" Reis and Mary Louise (Morris) Reis. Bill was married to his wife of 44 years, Enid Mary (Hawk) Reis who survives him. Bill was a very out going and friendly person and never knew the person to be a stranger once he met them. Bill was very proud of his military service in the United States Air Force. He was a Staff Sargeant, and worked as a weapons mechanic, from 1958 through 1963 while stationed in Spain. Upon returning to Mansfield after being discharged, he joined the Air National Guard, 179th Tactical Group and served from 1963-1966. Bill was also a member of the Baha'i, Faith, since 1973 and is now with his family and friends in Abha Kingdom along with his Aunt Marjorie Piper who also was a Baha'i.

Bill was preceded in passing by his mother and father; and a brother-in-law, Howard Hawk. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his two sisters, Becky Reis Davis and Barbara Reis Thompson both of Smithville, TN; and a special cousin, Michael Piper in Waterford, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at Mansfield Cemetery at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 14, 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be sent to the Parkinson's Foundation of Ohio, 2800 Corp. Exchange Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43231. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the Reis family.
