Jennie Toms Obituary
Jennie M. Toms

RURAL LUCAS: Jennie M. Toms, 90, of rural Lucas, died Monday evening, April 28, 2014 in Brethren Care Village, Ashland, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Toms was born February 12, 1924 in Mansfield and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Mazza) Fanello. On June 23, 1945 she married Robert J. Toms and he died October 15, 1996.

She was a 1942 graduate of Lucas High School and lived in the Lucas area most of her life. She was a caterer with Buehler's of Wooster for many years and had also worked in the cafeteria at Lucas Schools. Jennie was a member of the Perrysville United Methodist Church and the Ruth Chapter #17 Order of Eastern Star, Mansfield. She spent many winters in Florida and traveling about the country with the love of her life, her husband, Bob. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and "grandma-great". She is now reunited in heaven with her husband and all the other members of her family who have gone before. She loved her flower garden, her ceramics, and golfing but was a fanatic about her hummingbirds. She was a passionate woman who approached everything whole-heartedly.

She is survived by her son: Larry (Carol) Toms of Lucas; her daughter: Diane Field of Wooster; her daughter-in-law: Doraine Toms of Put-in-Bay; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren with one on the way; 5 brothers: Anthony "Tony" Fanello of The Villages, FL, Frank (Norma) Fanello of Marion, James (Kathleen) Fanello of Lucas, Joseph (Sue) Fanello of Lucas, and Salvadore "Sam" Fanello of Mansfield; 2 sisters: Rose (Joe) Harris of Bolivar, and Mary Lou Fanello of Mansfield; 2 sisters-in-law: Grace (Wilbur) Danals of Perrysville, and Lucille (John) Ullman of Loudonville, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son: Robert G. Toms, her son-in-law: Grove Field; and 2 brothers and sisters-in-law: Dominick C. and Rose Fanello and Rocco and Peg Fanello.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3, at 10:30 AM in LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE with Rev. Millissa Hartson officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville. Friends may call Friday from 5-8pm in LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE where Eastern Star Services will begin at 7:45 PM.
