Kenneth Navratil Obituary
Kenneth Peter Navratil, Sr.

LEXINGTON: Kenneth Peter Navratil, Sr. passed away Sunday evening, August 24, 2014 in his Lexington home surrounded by family. He was 83.

He was born April 12, 1931 to the late Adam and Elizabeth (Waleri) Navratil in Glen Ullin, North Dakota. After attending Mansfield Senior High School, he proudly served his country by joining the Air National Guard in July of 1949. Ken married Carmela Ann "Connie" Gregoria on February 3, 1951 and together they settled in Mansfield to raise a family.

Ken worked for the US Post Office for over 30 years, much of that time as Postmaster, and upon retirement in 1988 he was the Regional Director in Akron.

An avid hunter, Ken loved being outdoors, going fishing, and carving wood. He enjoyed Ohio State football, Browns football, and Indians baseball. Above all, time spent with family was most important to him.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Ducks Unlimited, Seratoma Club, the National Association of Postmaster, Elks Club, Sons of Italy, and a faithful member of Resurrection Parish in Lexington.

In addition to his loving wife Connie Navratil of Mansfield, he is survived by his children (and spouses): Ken Jr. (Elaine) Navratil of Lexington, Jeffrey Navratil of Lexington, and Victoria (Rich) Bennett of Tampa, FL; grandchildren: Adam Navratil, Aaron (Andrea) Navratil, Heather Snavely, Fleicia Navratil, and Curtis (fiancée, Jennifer Daniels) Snavely; a sister Gloria Hughes of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Lorraine Heard, Harold Navratil, Roland Navratil, and Loretta Smith; and a grandchild Jesse Navratil.

Although no public service will be held in Ken's memory, his family hopes that you will hold him in your heart as you remember him in your own special way. He will be inurned in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital can be sent in care of the funeral home: P.O. Box 3085, Mansfield, Ohio 44904.
